GCSE Results 2018

Bullers Wood students are celebrating GCSE success on publication of the 2018 results, with 82% securing 5 A*-C grades (including English and Maths at 4-9). 37% of students secured at least 3 A/A* (including English and Maths 7-9) grades and 25% 5 or more A/A* grades (including English and Maths 7-9).

93% of students secured 9-4 in English, and 84% 9-4 in Maths.

59% of the cohort have achieved the ‘EBACC’ suite of subjects, and we are equally proud of students’ achievements and success in creative and practical subjects which reflect our broad and balanced curriculum that nurtures and develops the skills and aptitudes for study and work in the 21st century.

These results reflect two years commitment and hard work on the part of students, with expert guidance from dedicated teachers and support from parents and carers. In particular we recognise and applaud colleagues’ and students’ successes in securing these grades across new specifications which, covering more and harder contents and concepts. We congratulate the students on their achievements and wish them well for the future.

A Level and BTEC Results 2018

Bullers Wood School are delighted to announce an outstanding set of A2 and L3 BTEC results.

76% of all grades were A*-C and nearly 50% A*-B

20% of all grades A*-A

25% of students achieved all A*-B grades

64% of students achieved all A*-C grades

These grades have secured students places on some of the most competitive courses around the country, including Oxford and Cambridge Universities and Medicine.

Our Level 3 BTEC results were once again impressive, with 91% of all grades being the equivalent to A*-C, including 33% equivalent to A*-B.

We are delighted with these results across both A Level and BTEC, where students are following new, more rigorous and demanding courses.

Students across all courses and programmes should be proud of their achievements, which are the result of their sustained hard work over two years of study, supported by dedicated and expert teachers. Alongside this they have achieved many other qualifications – for example in Music and Drama exams, Extended Project Qualification and Finance; not to mention their involvement in many and varied activities and expeditions in school, locally, nationally and internationally. The qualities and achievements in these areas, alongside their academic qualifications, set them in good stead for their future courses, training or employment.

Many thanks to all our staff and parents who have supported Bullers Wood students throughout their studies, and we wish all our students every success for the future.
