Friends of Bullers Wood
After the success of our Christmas Hamper Raffle, the Friends of Bullers Wood are holding an Easter Hamper Raffle over the last 3 weeks of the term.
We have 3 wonderful hampers on offer, each week a different theme – see Easter Hamper flyer for details.
Entries are £5 each, available on School Gateway, and the winner will be drawn on the following Monday (except the last week of term when the winner will be drawn on the last day of term).
Our Christmas Hamper Raffle raised over £2,000 which enabled the FoBW to fund essential equipment to help the teachers provide the remote learning over the first part of this term.
Please see our video about Friends of Bullers Wood here.
All parents are automatically members of Friends of Bullers Wood. There is no annual subscription, but the committee welcomes parental support at the various events held throughout the year. The parents are very supportive of the school and have already presented many items of equipment which have benefited the students.
Friends of Bullers Wood support the following events:
• Open Evening
• Yr 7 and Yr 12 Welcome evenings
• Quiz night
• Yr 7 Disco
• Christmas and Summer Music Concert
While our committee is quite small we have an enthusiastic band of helpers and would like some more.
Friends of Bullers Wood have for many years raised additional funds for the school through a Covenant Scheme. We are looking to significantly enhance our income from this to support improvements around the school which will deliver improvements for as many students as possible. The Covenant Scheme is a particularly effective way of doing this as taxpayers are eligible to register through the Gift Aid scheme to secure extra funding from the government (25%).
We remain acutely aware of the economic pressures currently facing family budgets, but would ask you to consider making a welcome and valued contribution. £20 per month is a suggested contribution, but the amount you donate would be for you to decide; you can pay monthly by standing order, or if you prefer, a one-off single payment. Of course, if you are able and wish to contribute more than this the school will benefit all the more. Irrespective of the amount you are able to afford, any and every donation will make a real difference to your child’s experience at the school and will enrich and enhance the opportunities available to them.
Click here for the Covenant Scheme Form – please take time to complete the form and return to the school.
