As there is an upcoming General Election on 12th December, the History and Politics department are running a mock election to help students to engage with the political system in the UK. This will include an assembly where the representatives share their key policy pledges to try to win over voters. Student representatives are already working hard on their speeches and creating campaign posters and slogans.

On polling day everyone will get a chance to vote individually in a booth, just like a real election. Each form group will act as a ‘constituency’ and elect their own ‘MP’. This will create a ‘first past the post’ system within school. The party that wins the most seats (or in this case form groups) will win the election. The 5 parties that have representation in the Bullers Wood election are: The Conservative Party, the Labour Party, the Liberal Democrat Party, the Brexit Party and the Green Party.
