Year 8 Trip to Howlett’s Zoo
Year 8 had a very successful trip to Howlett’s Zoo on Friday 10th September. Here is a report on the trip by Sophia in Year 8:
‘Our school trip to Howlett’s was so much fun! We started the day by getting on the coaches with our partners that we had previously chosen. Even though we left a bit late, we got there right on time and registered with our group leaders. After that we could find our friends and wander the zoo as long as we were near teachers. One of the highlights of my trip was seeing the elephants. They got so close to the gates and there was the most adorable baby elephant too. We also saw lions and tigers doing their signature bit: lying in the sun. There were so many monkeys around the park and a whole play area for the lemurs.
We had lunch at the picnic area and then we finished off the loop of the zoo with our groups. We saw bongos, ostriches and monkeys that were screeching as loud as they could! Everyone had time to use the bathroom or visit the gift shop before we left. On my coach, we were all singing (teachers included!) and we got back to school when we were estimated to. It was a great day out – thank you to Mrs Carter, our Head of Year, for organising it!’
