Sixth Form Courses & Entrance Requirements 2023
Most students will study three subjects, with the possibility of a fourth option such as the Extended Project Qualification, or in some cases a fourth A Level subject. Certain combinations of subjects may not be possible, although we do our best to accommodate requests. All courses are offered subject to staffing and student numbers.
All Level 3 courses will allow you to gain a place at university. There are three different pathways to choose from:
- Three A Levels
- Three applied courses (eg. BTEC and WJEC)
- A combination of A Levels and applied courses
A Levels are our more academic courses, while BTECs and other vocational courses are work-related qualifications for learners taking their first steps into employment or planning to enter university. The world’s most successful, best-loved applied learning brand, BTEC has been engaging learners in practical, interpersonal and thinking skills for over 30 years.
It is important that you select courses which are appropriate for your personal needs and ability. Please check the entry requirements when selecting your courses.
If you wish to go to university after school, for more information, see the Russell Group’s Informed Choices website
